18 New CMA-W Approved Vanguard® Molded Fiber SKUS!
Posted by Eco-Products on Feb 8th 2024
While it is tough to know for sure, we think it is safe to say that Eco-Products does more field testing than any other brand in the industry. Why? In short, because we want to know as much about our products as we possibly can, including how they perform in real world composting environments. Our hope is that composters who are unsure about compostable products will see the passing tests and consider accepting them.
A lot of the testing we do is with the Compost Manufacturing Alliance (CMA). They test by composting technology (Windrow, In-Vessel, Aerated Static Pile, etc.), and when products achieve 80% disintegration within a specified time frame, those products are awarded a CMA “Approval” for that technology. Eco-Products SKUs hold 450 different CMA Approvals (many hold more than one approval) across the full set of technologies – by far the most in the industry. Some composters require CMA Approval for acceptance into their facilities, and our extensive list of approved items helps give us an advantage in a number of key markets.
Today we’re happy to report that 18 Vanguard SKUs recently received CMA Approval for the windrow composting technology, which they refer to as CMA-W. This is a big deal, as up until now there were very few molded fiber items from the whole industry approved for any of CMA’s technologies. (We had the very first one – announced in March of last year.) This new wave of passing tests should help demonstrate to composters operating windrow systems that molded fiber items do in fact break down under proper operating conditions.
Here is the list of the 18 new CMA-W approved SKUs:
