These cups feature a QR tag to engage customers. For the photo realistic images that adorn these cups, we zoomed way in to focus on the colors and the textures of the flora and fauna we photographed. Scanning the QR tag takes you to a page where you can zoom out to see the full plant or animal, and read a little bit about its place in the world.
With our “This is Why” campaign, we are trying to show all the reasons we think this environmental stuff matters. On our cups we’re using images of plants and animals, but there is also a human element. The one thing that connects nearly all humans is concern for the people who will remain on this planet once we are gone, and the most widely adopted definition of sustainability highlights concern for those future generations as the reason to make better decisions now. In our sons, daughters, nephews, nieces and grandchildren, we find the logical (yet highly emotional) reason to care about not wrecking the planet we have now, and to not deplete its finite natural resources.
