Polypropylene Soup Cup Lids Are Being Discontinued

Today we are pleased to announce a milestone on our sustainability journey. If you’ve been reading our sustainability reports for the past four years, you know that we have been working to phase out the one product group that does not meet our current standards for sustainable product design: our virgin polypropylene soup cup lids (EP-BSCPPLID-L and EP-BSCPPLID-S). While these lids were removed from our website and catalog a while ago, it took a little longer to work with national accounts and distributors to completely phase out these products. Today, we announce that these lids will no longer be available through distribution as of July 1^st.

For our customers in need of soup cup lids, fear not! We have two options for you:

1. Our BlueStripe^™ EcoLids^® (EP-BRSCLID-L and EP-BRSCLID-S) are made with post-consumer recycled content and require fewer virgin resources to produce. Since they are not compostable nor commonly recyclable, these are a good choice for customers who are not waste diverting.
2. Our GreenStripe^® EcoLids^® (EP-ECOLID-SPL and EP-ECOLID-SPS) are compostable. They are a great solution for waste diverting operators.
