Sweating in the name of waste diversion: An exclusive behind the scenes look at Bonnaroo® 2022

We’re excited to again partner with Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival to supply compostable single-use packaging for their food vendors. The festival, running from June 16-19th outside Manchester, Tennessee, uses $1 from each ticket to help fund their sustainability efforts, including a permanent composting pad, solar arrays, carbon offsets and more.

Eco-Products supplies renewable and compostable products to all food vendors. Because all of the packaging on the farm is compostable, it’s easy for Bonnaroovians to choose the right bin on the way to the next performance.

So, what does it take to supply a massive outdoor Zero Waste event with compostable packaging? Let’s take a peek behind the scenes!

A week before the event, Eco-Products sends a truck filled with pallets of compostable products to the festival site.

Once the truck arrives, our Product & Zero Waste Specialist Wayne Koeckeritz will work alongside the Bonnaroo crew to unload the trucks, organize the products, and distribute orders to food vendors. It’s days of lifting and moving boxes in hot, humid weather – and that’s only the beginning!
