Overview
Eldora Ski Resort lost their ability to compost products but are dedicated to achieving their sustainability goals with waste diversion.
Challenge
As a remote location, there weren’t alternative hauling options or composters who would accept packaging. Last season, the Eldora team hand delivered buckets of food scraps to a transfer station, taking a lot of time and labor away from regular operations
Solution
Eco-Products PZW connected with Denver-based hauler Scraps who was open to expanding their route and wanted to support the ski resort. Eco-Products worked with Eldora’s F&B team to purchase certified compostable packaging that Scraps will accept.
Results
Eldora has a composting program again! The program started in November 2024 and will run through May 2025. The mountain is diverting around 4,000 pounds every month with this organics collection program.
