Football Anyone? Get Ready for a Zero Waste Season

August is here and that means one thing – Football is just around the corner.
The Zero Waste stakes are even higher this football season with the very successful first Zero Waste Super Bowl. The NFL and its partners went for a hail mary, and ended up keeping 91% of the total material generated out of the landfill. This included an impressive 20 tons of material sent to be composted!
But the pros aren’t the only ones with Zero Waste on their minds. College football stadiums across the country are striving for Zero Waste, including right here in Boulder. The University of Colorado Golden Buffaloes are strapping on their Zero Waste helmets for yet another year. Check out all of their efforts.
In fact, the Zero Waste (and Sustainability) fever has taken the whole PAC-12 by storm, with the creation of their new “Team Green”, unveiled at the 2nd annual PAC-12 Sustainability Conference held here at Folsom Field in Boulder.
